The Reverend Alfred Joseph White III of Waxahachie, Texas transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from the Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, Texas surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services are under the direction of the Waxahachie Funeral Home with the Reverend Keri Smith officiating, assisted by the Reverend Robert Shelton. Interment will follow the service at Maypearl Cemetery, Maypearl, Texas.

Alfred was born Tuesday, July 5, 1938 in Baytown, Texas to Alfred Joseph White Jr. and Agnes Eva Trahan. He graduated from Barbers Hill High School in 1956. On January 26, 1962, Alfred married Frankie Jo Marcontell and they were blessed through the years with three sons, three daughters-in-love, eight grandchildren and their four spouses, and ten great-grandchildren with more to come!

Throughout his ministry, Alfred worked at the Houston Light and Power Company of Baytown as a Customer Service Representative, at the Waxahachie Daily Light as a pressman and photographer, and as a craftsman at the City Bicycle Shop in Waxahachie. Alfred served his country in the Air National Guard.

In 1973, Alfred graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God College with a Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministries. His and Frankie's first pastorate was at Hopewell Assembly of God in Ennis, Texas followed by Southpark Assembly of God in Waxahachie. The last several years of his ministry were spent assisting at Maypearl Assembly of God in Maypearl, Texas. Alfred also served as Treasurer for the Waxahachie Ministerial Alliance.

Alfred demonstrated an extraordinary talent on guitar for the ability to form consonance chords – it was mesmerizing to listen to him play. His other hobbies included fishing, golfing, and photography; but most of all PawPaw enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren. He was always available to run that item left at home up to the school office, tow someone home when their car stranded them, defend his family against anything he deemed unjust, and he loved to have his family gathered around him.

Brother White was a faithful man of God who exemplified reverence with an unwavering devotion to Christ and His mission. To all who knew him, he was a source of inspiration in his display of kindness, humility, and love.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Leona Aline White, and an aunt, Bessie Thomas McDaniel Robbins. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Frankie White, three sons David Alan White and wife Sissy, Damon Charles White and wife Michelle, Darryl Edwin White and wife Crissy, eight grandchildren, Danielle Schrag, Courtney Schwab and husband Jeffrey, Jonathan White and wife Meaghan, Jordan White, Joshua White, Brittni Dunbar and husband McEntry, Nathan White and wife Kaylie, and Ethan White, and ten great-grandchildren, Raleigh, Rebel,
Memphis, Jon Kyle, Ben, Jackson, Harper, Brielle, Mac, and baby boy White. He is also survived by one brother, Martin White of Mont Belvieu, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Jonathan White, Jordan White, Joshua White, Nathan White, Ethan White, Jeffrey Schwab, and McEntry Dunbar. Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Williams, Zachary Mason, Andrew Mason, Darrell Brown, Doug Brown, Preston Claiborne, and James Claiborne.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:6-8
