Anna Ruth Chisholm

August 23, 1936 - February 11, 2017

Anna Ruth Chisholm, 80, passed away on February 11, 2017 surrounded by loved ones and family. She was born in Wills Point, Texas to Hollis and Wilma Ragland.

Anna Ruth, commonly known as "Granny," was a true matriarch of her family. Her tenacity, in dependence, and fierce love for The Lord inspired future generations and resulted in a legacy of dedicated Christ-Followers in her family. Anna Ruth overcame many trials and challenges in childhood and throughout her adult life, but her faith in The Lord and positive outlook on life never wavered. Aside from raising six children, Anna Ruth also served as a caretaker, opening her home for various family members over the years. Throughout her occupations over the years, Anna Ruth tirelessly worked hard, dedicatedly served others, and loved deeply.

She is preceded in death by husband Junior Chisholm, son Randy Chisholm, grandson Rickey Chisholm, great-granddaughter Sissy Chisholm, great-grandson Gary Chisholm.

Anna Ruth is survived by son John Arthur "Johnny" Chisholm and wife Debbie, daughters Cathy Ann Jones, Patricia Louise Nail and husband Tommy, Debra Lynn Armstrong and husband Charlie, Linda Sue Boatright and husband Jerry, brother Hollis Cecil Ragland Jr. "Sonny", sisters Gloria Yarborough, Linda Olsen, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and a dear friend Sue Rich. Though Anna Ruth "Granny" Chisholm will be will be greatly missed here on Earth, we are all comforted by knowing she will be care-free and painle ssly enjoying Heaven in the company of her precious Savior.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 6-8:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 16, 2017, 2:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ferris Memorial Park.
