IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Berna Mae
Pruett
August 28, 1933 – September 1, 2024
Berna Mae Robison Pruett received her ultimate healing miracle and heart's desire as she stepped into heaven on September 1, 2024, at age 91. How awesome it must have been to be welcomed home by her Savior, and what a glorious reunion with all her loved ones. Berna Mae retired from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2014, after 30 years of service. While at SAGU, she held many roles, including Executive Secretary to the President, Outreach Ministry Coordinator, Director of Student Ministries, Women's Auxiliary and Alumni Coordinator. It was her joy and delight to be able to invest in students and help them fulfill the call of God on their lives.
Before taking the position at SAGU, she and her husband, Richard Pruett, were pastors in various Texas cities, including Pampa, Angleton, Corpus Christi, and Portland, as well as Ventura, El Centro, Fontana, and Harbor City California. Berna had a heart for ministry and blessed many with her musical talents, including playing the piano and singing. Her musical creativity was also demonstrated as she arranged music for choirs and quartets, taught music theory and piano lessons, and organized and directed musical cantatas.
Berna Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Terrell Pruett; daughter Kathi Ann Pruett; son Richard Terrell Pruett II; grandson Allen Richard Culbertson; granddaughter Kristin Michelle Goldston Widner; and sister Bonnie Brewster.
She is survived by her daughters Sherri Pruett, Vicki Pruett, and Judi Goldston and her husband Kenneth; daughter-in-law Relinda Pruett Spears and her husband Mark; sister Leta Jones and her husband Steve; grandchildren John Culbertson and his wife Brandy, Joseph Goldston and his wife Christie, Christopher Alexander and his wife Tatum, Katie Alexander, Jana Rowe and her husband Jonathan, Richard Pruett III (Trey), Braden Pruett; and eight great-grandchildren, Parker Goldston, Hailey Smith, Carter Goldston, Jay Hawkins, Hayden Eickhoff, Fallyn Rowe, Talay Alexander and Oaklyn Rowe.
