IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Jean
Garcia
September 17, 1956 – July 6, 2017
Beverly Jean (Hilburn) Garcia
September 17, 1956 - July 6, 2017
Unconditional love and genuine concern for the wellbeing of anyone she met, a warrior for the Lord, and the voice of an angel when she sang his praises. Beverly Jean Hilburn was a proud Mother and S ister who was no stranger to overcoming various obstacles that built up a wisdom in her, which most would never fathom. She earned two degrees, one in Theology at Christ for the Nations and one in Nursing. She served as nurse for 25 years. She did not act as a mother to whomever she met, she was your mother. Care taking was not only her passion, it was her very nature. Before her physical health declined she was a health nut to the core, always eating right and exercising while encouraging others to do the same. She ran 10 miles a day during her pregnancy. Truth is, doctors told her it was impossible for her to conceive so when she was blessed with what she always referred to as a miracle, she made sure her baby was going to be the healthiest baby ever created. The lessons of her life will live on as her light shines through in ours.
Beverly Garcia, 60, passed away July 6, 2017. She was born September 17, 1956 in Cedar Town, Georgia to Cary Lee and Margaret Hilburn.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Preston Hilburn, and sister Karen Rowell.
Beverly is survived by her son Preston Garcia, her brothers Gary Lee & Sheree Hilburn and Steve & Deborah Dunn, her sisters Nancy & Harold Cole and Ann Boone.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 16th at Waxahachie Funeral Home @ 2pm. Beverly expressed many times through writing she left for her son that she wanted her life to be celebrated, not mourned. She was a woman of unbreakable faith and knew home was waiting for her whenever God decided it was time.
