Billie Jean Daugherty November 3, 1931- August 9, 2013 Jean Daugherty, 81, went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born in Waxahachie to Jarrett and Mamie Flowers on November 3, 1931. She married Jimmy Daugherty on Sept.1, 1950. Jean was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family, her church, gardening, going to garage sales, tea pots, porcelain dolls, games and puzzles. She would always say "The Lord has blessed me with a big family." Jean was member of the Christian Women's Club, and New Life Worship Center of Waxahachie. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter Sabrina Soape, a sister Hazel Cross and 3 great grandchildren. Jean is survived by her children, sons James Daugherty, Jarrett Daugherty, daughters Mary Hvizdak, Diana Tedford, Linda Kimbrell, Shirley LaBrecque, Hazel Shropshire,27 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 4 -6 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Monday at 10AM at the New Life Worship Center, 1320 Brown St. Waxahachie. Interment will be at Resurrection Hope Cemetery in Cameron, TX at 3:30 PM. Arrangements are under direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
