IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Billy Ongie
Fox
November 21, 1944 – October 19, 2016
Billy Fox, 71, was born November 21, 1944 in Paris, Texas as the only child of Ongie and Lois Fox. He served his country in the United States Army, then upon his return to Paris, Texas he worked for the Campbell Soup Company. He obtained his Commercial Pilots license during this time. After moving to Dallas he worked for Cannon Protective Services as an undercover specialist. Later, he then went to work for Apache Pipeline and other pipeline companies until his retirement. He was a member of the Dallas Elks Lodge for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Tamara Fox, an uncle Ray Merritt, aunts Dorothy Gandy, Earline Stringer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
With his large stature of 6' 6" tall, when he walked into a room, his presence filled the whole room. It was filled not only with his tall frame and booming voice, but with the light in his eyes, his friendly spirit and big heart. He never met a stranger, and once he was our friend, you were friends forever. He was a loving caring, faithful husband, and will be dearly missed.
Billy has been described by friends and family as insightful, genuine, caring, loyal, fun loving, encouraging, uniquely interesting and entertaining with his vast knowledge on many topics. He was a very generous man with friends and family and would help others in any way he could, and was considered a mentor. He always said "You can't take anything with you, but maybe your memories". We are so thankful for our many wonderful memories of him.
