Blaine Archerd Griffin of Waxahachie, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Blaine was the son of Orville Thomas and Eleanor Malinda (Mechem) Lin Griffin. He was born February 8, 1958 in Webster City, Iowa.

Blaine was the middle child of five children. Blaine was special and  made an  impact on everyone he met, and it wasn't because he was "special needs," but rather because he loved people and genuinely cared about others.

His elementary school years were spent in Iowa where he attended public school. He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in Zion, Illinois. After graduation he obtained an Illinois driver's license and got his first job. He worked until his family relocated to Waxahachie in 1994.

Upon relocating to Texas, he became a member of the Park Meadows Baptist Church, where he was an active member. He was able to go on mission trips with his church as well as participating in church plays. The director of the church plays always wrote in a special part just for Blaine. He loved being involved and an active part of his church family. He also became an active volunteer at the Waxahachie Senior Center, where he served whenever and wherever he was needed.

Blaine was a participant in the local, state and national "Special Olympics" where he won many medals, at times, even bringing home the Gold!!!

Community and family meant everything to Blaine! He especially loved Christmastime where he would dress up as Santa Claus and go surprise the students at the school where his sister was a special needs teacher.

Blaine is preceded in death by his father; Orville Thomas Griffin. He is survived by his mother; Eleanor Malinda Griffin, one sister; Rebecca, and three brothers: William, Robert and his wife, Margo; Bruce, and many nieces and nephews.

He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Waxahachie Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
