Monroe Craighead, 81, passed away August 24, 2018. He was born July 20, 1937 in Waxahachie, TX to Elmer and Maypearl Craighead.  Monroe proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kessaundrea Garten, brothers Weldon Craighead, Richard Craighead, sisters Cealie King, Estelle Miller, Sara Ann Craighead, and Barbara Vaughan.

Monroe is survived by his loving  wife of 22 years,  Mary Craighead, sons Jerry Craighead and wife Lucy of Springtown, TX, Tommy Vaughan and wife Tenia of Cleburne, TX,  granddaughter Keisha Talley, and many, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 PM, Monday, August 27, 2018 at Waxahachie Funeral Home.   Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM.,Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Waxahachie Funeral Home, with Interment following at Dallas Ft.
