Christene Diaz, 78, passed away peacefully at her daughters home surrounded by her family October 29, 2016. Christene was born in Lake Charles, LA, May 7, 1938 to Gassler and Oxcelia Guillory. She was the 12th child born in this family of farmers. They moved to San Bernardino, California with youngest 4 children and bought a piece of land. For the next year the family lived in a tent while her father built them a home.

She met her husband Samuel Diaz and married him when she was 16 and he was 17. They had their first child Judy Ann, then bought their first home. When Christene was 20 she had a son Robert, 15 years later they had James, a year later Timothy was born. Christene came to Waxahachie a short time ago to be near her daughter who was very glad to have the opportunity to take care of her Mom during her last days.

Christene is preceded in death by 2 sons James & Timothy, husband Samuel Diaz, and 3rd son Robert, 6 brothers, 2 sisters.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter Judy Ann Fields, 3 sisters, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
