How can we begin to describe Rev Derrell Surface our father?
A man of elite character who gave his entire life fully to God and his work.
He was a wonderful musician, singer and songwriter.
He knew the presence of God.
He loved people and he pastored numerous churches throughout his life, including 38 years of ministry to the Native American Indians.
Our dad preached God's Word even in the pandemic. His computer became his pulpit.
People he never met learned to love him and look forward to hearing what he had to share from God.
He was a mentor to many.
He began preaching in his mid-teens and he took his first pastorate before the age of 20.
Our father was a prayer warrior. He knew what it meant to pray without ceasing.
He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed teasing.. Sometimes he did not even know the person, but they often became his friend. .
He loved his family dearly. He was a wonderful Dad, Husband, and Grandpa.
We will miss his smiling eyes, his warm hugs, and his kind and loving spirit.
We honor him today with our love.
Thank you for the legacy you leave us.
We will forever be grateful and will always remember your faithfulness to our heavenly Father and showed us the way.
Brother Surface our dad was never a prideful person but he is being honored in the presence of God today.
