Mrozinski
April 13, 1964 – December 29, 2024
Donald (Donnie) Wayne Mrozinski was born on April 13, 1964 in Michigan City, Indiana to Barbara and Thomas Mrozinski.
Donnie was preceded in death is grandparents, James and Vada Ford. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Jackson, brothers James, Thomas and Michael, wife Kim, son and daughter-in-law Josh and Heather Mrozinski and granddaughters, Paizleigh and Kynzee and many, many adopted family members.
Donnie was very involved with the Ellis County music family for many years.
He was the first grandson to James and Vada Ford. Donnie spent a great deal of time at Papaw James' bakery and took all those memories and skills with him throughout his life. The family ended up in Texas in the 1970's. After high school he joined the Marine Corp, stationed at 29 Palms, California and Okinawa, Japan.
Donnie met the love of his life, Kimberly Eve Edens, in Sherman, Texas shortly after leaving the military. The night they met, they both went home and told others they had met the one they would marry. They did just that on February 13, 1988. They welcomed Joshua Cody to the family on February 16, 1992 in Mesquite, Texas.
Donnie worked as an outside salesman for WM Automotive for 35 years, then went to work for 4M/NMG in 2022. He loved his job and made many lifelong friends along the auto parts road.
Donnie's love of cooking manifested itself in barbeque and smoking any meat he could find. Family and friends joined him when he started competing in barbeque cook-offs. This lead him to some catering gigs, which included Freedom Fest, a non-profit started by his friends, Danny and Kellie Roland. This annual event benefited military personnel in the Middle East for many years. Eventually, Donnie and Kim fulfilled their dream and opened Hissy Fits BBQ in Maypearl, Texas in 2018.
Donnie coached soccer for many years, becoming a second father to many. On any given weekend, one could find many of Josh's friends at their house in the kitchen, the smoker or the garage learning from their mentor, Don Don.
