IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Earlene
Saunders
February 19, 1932 – March 15, 2024
Velma Earlene Saunders, 92, passed away March 14, 2024, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her daughters Debbie, Deanna, and Nancy and now we know she is in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.
Earlene was born on February 19th, 1932, in McCamey, Texas, to Robert Earl Canon and Velma Lee Canon.
She lived a remarkable life filled with love, kindness, wisdom, and grace. This was demonstrated by her devotion as a care giver to her loving father and other family members in Stephenville, TX, for over a decade. She made everyone in her sphere of care feel special.
Earlene's constant monitoring of the weather and her frequent phone check-ins to verify people's status gave the impression of her being a modern-day switchboard operator.
Earlene's nickname given to her by her 7 grandchildren is "Mamer". She made each one of them feel loved and cherished as if each one were her favorite! Mamer has 32 great grandchildren.
Earlene is survived by her siblings Bob Canon, his wife Carolyn, younger sister Linda Jordan, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her three daughters Debbie Reynolds, husband John, Deanna Holzer, husband Matthew, and Nancy Curry, husband Rodger will carry on her legacy into perpetuity. Earlene's grandchildren are Mike Reynolds, Rob Reynolds, Damon Holzer, Amy McManus, Clifton Curry, Caleb Curry, and Christina Higgins. Mamer will be dearly missed by each and every person who knew her.
