Faye Spence, 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 3rd. 2024 at her home in Waxahachie, Texas. Faye was born January 2nd, 1931, in Quitaque (Kitty-Kway), Texas to Edson and Myrtle Chambers. On August 30th, 1947, at the age of 16 years old, Faye eloped with her high school sweetheart, JC.
Faye traveled with Jack Coe, she was a house parent at a children's home in Hot Spring, Arkansas, a seamstress for Nieman Marcus and, managed kitchen operations at Southwestern Bible Institute (now known as SAGU). She worked at Daisy's Bake Shop and taught home ec. at Waxahachie Christian Academy.
Faye's true calling was working with children. She served as a Royal Ranger Leader for over 60 years. Faye and J.C.'s home was always open to anyone in need of food and comfort. Faye found great joy in giving to others and never let anyone leave her home without saying "Let's have prayer."
Faye is preceded in death by her parents Edson and Myrtle Chambers, her loving husband, J.C. Spence, children Roy and Andy Spence, and siblings, Roy, Ray, Andrew, Cleo, Billy, and Elsie.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children, Adele Smith, Melba Allen, and Randy Spence, as well as her grandchildren, Andrew Spence, TJ Spence, Taylor Smith, Sarah Andrle, Daniel Skelton, Emily Spence, and Cooper Allen, as well as a host of family and friends.
