Edward Michael "Mike" Church, age 71, of Plano, Texas passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas on January 16, 1951, to Edward Alex Church and Hazel Church Bowden.

Mike went to schools in Waxahachie and Dallas, graduating from South Oak Cliff (SOC) High School.  He also attended the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA).  Mike lived in the greater Dallas area and worked in the grocery industry for many years.  Mike loved all types of music, and his favorite music artist was Elvis Presley.  Mike also loved celebrating and decorating for holidays, especially Christmas, and he often portrayed Santa for family and friends.

Mike is survived by his son, Michael Glen Church, and Michael Glen's mother, Rachel Cavazos Church. He is also survived by his sisters Edwina Church Hollywood and Patricia "Pat" Genzer (spouse Larry Genzer); brothers James Robert Church (spouse Bobbi Church) and Gary Church (spouse Kathy Church); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Edward Alex Church of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and Hazel Church Bowden of Mabank, Texas; his grandparents, William and Rosa Church, and Alex and Ann Melton, all of Waxahachie, Texas; and all aunts, uncles, and some cousins.

Mike will be missed by his family and many friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 10:30 - 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service following from 11:00 - 11:30 AM, at Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 West Highway 287 By-Pass, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM, at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery, 199 Oaklawn, Waxahachie, Texas.
