IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elvira
Moya
September 7, 1946 – February 1, 2020
Elvira Moya, beloved wife, sister and mother rested in the Lord on Sabbath, February 1, 2020.
She was born in Ennis, Texas on September 7, 1946 to Monico and Josefina Bernal as the sixth of seven children. The family moved to Waxahachie where she continued as an almost life—long resident, attending Waxahachie ISD schools and graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1965.
She met Danny Moya of Ferris at the Dairy Queen in 1969 and they married on March 1, 1970. They welcomed their first daughter Laura a year later, followed by son Andy three years later and Veronica seven years after that. She lovingly raised them as a stay-at-home Mom until Veronica entered school, then joining the staff at Marvin Elementary where she continued as a paraprofessional for 21 years.
As an active part of the Waxahachie Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church since 1981, she loved to serve others and her church. As an avid creative, she also loved to bless others creating crafts and memorabilia for countless throughout the years from teddy bears to blankets and photo albums.
She is preceded in death by her parents Monico and Josefina Bernal of Waxahachie and brother Ignacio Bernal of Dallas. Survivors include husband Danny Moya of Waxahachie, daughter Laura Small and her husband Eddie and granddaughter Madeline of Midlothian, son Andy Moya of Waxahachie, and daughter Veronica Benitez and her husband Hiram, and grandsons Mike and Nathan of Waxahachie. She is also survived by her siblings: Pete Bernal of San Antonio, Beatrice Vazquez, Henry Bernal, Martha Solis of Waxahachie and Mary Santos of Ennis, and their spouses and families.
