Ernest O'Daniel Jr., 61, passed away at home September 26, 2016. He was born January 6, 1955 in Cleburne, Texas to Ernest and Kirby O'Daniel. Ernest was an active member of Gambrell Street Baptist Church, in Ft. Worth, where he loved to sing in the choir. Ernest loved his family and his church family. He would always find a hospital to volunteer at no matter where he lived. He was currently volunteering at John Peter Smith Hospital, where he was recognized for his compassion and concern for hospital patients. Throughout his life Ernest reminded all of his family the simple beauty of humility, service and love.

Ernest is preceded in death by his mother Kirby Louise O'Daniel.

Ernest is survived by and will be greatly missed by his father Ernest O'Daniel Sr. and his wife Melba, brothers Joseph O'Daniel and wife Betty of Waxahachie, Mike Crandall and wife Pam of Ft. Worth, sisters Leslie Bagwell and husband Robert, of Sequim Washington, Trena Nevels of Ft. Worth, Jackie Palmer and husband Robert of Arlington.

Ernest will be greatly missed by all of us, but we take comfort knowing he is singing in the Heavenly choir. "Greatness is not found in possessions, power, position, or prestige. It is discovered in goodness, humility, service, and character." William Arthur Ward.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2016, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, 10 AM at Waxahachie Funeral Home with interment at Alvarado Glennwood Cemetery.
