Obituary

Evelyn Stanford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Dallas, Texas to James and Ida Amos.  Evelyn had one older sister Peggy Smith of Greenville,  and two younger sisters Avis Crisp of Ft. Worth and survived by Ilene Briles of Red Oak.  She attended Dallas Independent Schools and graduated with honors from Sunset High School in Oak Cliff.

She married Marshall Ed Stanford following WWII.  They had two daughters, Rebecca Stanford Horn now of Little Elm and Cathie Stanford Alexander of Plano Texas.

Evelyn worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T all her adult life. Her talents and interest were every expanding.   She partnered with Francis Box, a childhood friend, to operate a wedding planning and catering business. She was an avid oil on canvas painter of travel sites. Evelyn was also a graduate of the Texas A&M Master Gardeners certification.

Evelyn was an accomplished crafts woman.  She was a seamstress, china painter, baker, gardener, cook, knitter and fantastic hostess.

Please join family and friends for a Celebration of Life Service on March 22, 2022 at 3:30 P.M. in the Creekside Room at Woodcreek Church ( Woodcreek Church at 3400 E. Renner Rd. Richardson TX, 75082. ). We welcome you to share your memories of Evelyn at the service

In lieu of flowers, please celebrate Evelyn by making a donation to The American Macular Degeneration Foundation ( The American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF) ). The family choose this foundation because Macular Degeneration robed Evelyn of the things she loved, painting, reading and road trips.
