Francis Jean Scott Saunders, 88, passed away September 8, 2017. She was born December 2, 1928 in Italy, Texas to John Franklin Scott and Georgia Ann Porterfield Scott.  Jean worked as a clerk in S.H. Kress Co. and Ben Franklin store in Grand Prairie, later she worked at DeSoto Jr. High cafeteria for 10 years.

Jean married Cleo Saunders at the age of 19, December 12, 1947 in Buffalo, Texas. After they married they lived in Houston and Grand Prairie before they purchased their home in Red Oak where they lived over 50 years. Jean was an avid traveler. She loved to garden and work in her yard, she enjoyed fishing, camping, walking, doing puzzles, listening to music, and playing solitaire. She was never idle.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cleo Saunders, twin brother Thomas James Scott, and 3 half sisters.

Jean is survived by a 1 sister-in-law, Helen Scott, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great nephews, and the family next door, The Tonicks, Steve, Lisa, Chris, and Katelyn adopted her and really took great care of her.

A visitation will be held 6-8:00 PM ,Sunday September 10, 2017, at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, September 11, 2017 , at Lakeview Cemetery, in Waxahachie, Texas.
