Frankie was born Wednesday, February 19, 1941, in Saratoga, Texas to Jeff Davis Marcontell and Leona Evelyn Winkler. She graduated from Barbers Hill High School, attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College, and Sam Houston StatevUniversity and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Frankie married AlfredvJoseph White, III (Sonny) on January 26, 1962.
Frankie taught primary education for thirty-three years in the Barber’s Hill and Waxahachie Independent School Districts. In 1970 she began teaching at Marvin Elementary in Waxahachie, Texas, and later transferred to Shackelford Elementary where she remained until her retirement. Her teaching career spanned generations, allowing her to instruct both parents and their children.
She ministered alongside her husband Alfred as Assemblies of God pastors. Frankie sang duets, played the piano, taught Sunday school, Children’s Church, and Missionettes. Alfred and Frankie became Associate Pastors and members of Maypearl First Assembly of God Church in 1982, and Frankie became an active member of the area Maypearl Women’s Fellowship.
After retirement Frankie devoted her time to childcare and touched the lives of many families, becoming “Mimaw” to all. She enjoyed playing board games with the kiddos, but admittedly always played to win! She spread the Gospel through crafting as she prepared gift bags for “Light the Night” and enclosed uplifting notes in her annual Christmas cards. Hosting Easter and Christmas were two of her standard traditions and at those family gatherings, everyone had to sing their part! Music played a large role in Frankie’s life having grown up attending Marcontell singings and reunions, and participating in many family trios and quartets. She often sang specials at church and directed numerous plays and musicals.
Frankie and Sonny were married for sixty-three years, until his passing in 2025. She missed him very much and looked forward to their reunion.

“For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8
