Gary Lee Hooper, 61, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born on August 19, 1960 to Jackie Ray Hooper and Iva Sue (Goyne) Alexander in Fort Worth, Texas.

Gary loved God and his country. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren that served and still serve.

After working many years in the general freight industry, as a driver and loader, Gary was anticipating retirement. He was a long time member of the Teamsters Union.

Gary enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He also spent his free time enjoying his passion for music, spending time with his friends, and visiting with his grandkids.

Gary was the kind of person who would be there for you, when needed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommy Hooper, and sister Paula Hooper.

Gary is survived by his wife Carrie Hooper; daughter Amanda (James) Johnson; son Jonathon Hooper; daughter Shannon Longoria (Caleb); son Cole Hooper; grandchildren: Kirsten & William Grupe, Gabriel, Matthew, Lane, &  Kendall Johnson, and sister Beverly Franklin.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon at Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 West Highway 287 By-Pass, with the service  following immediately at 3:00 o'clock, Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel.
