IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Lee
New
September 7, 1945 – November 22, 2022
Gary Lee New of Red Oak, Texas was born September 7, 1945, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Preston Lee New and Margie Louise (Dollar) New. Gary passed away November 22, 2022, at the age of 77.
Survivors include daughter Carol Cook and husband, Tyson of Mansfield, Texas, son, Christopher New of Red Oak, Texas, granddaughter MaKenzy New of Midlothian, Texas, sisters: Phyllis Farr and husband Richard of Red Oak, Texas, and Eileen Ross of Greenbriar, AR, and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was raised in Wilmer, Texas, the first born of six children. He graduated from Wilmer-Hutchins High School in 1964. During the Vietnam war, he served in the U.S. Air Force being stationed at Yokota Air Base in western Tokyo, Japan during most of his service. After the service, he lived and worked in Red Oak, Texas where he owned a heating and air conditioning business for over 45 years. Gary had many customers, both commercial business and residential, and all to this day remember Gary fondly.
Gary believed in Jesus Christ as God and Redeemer. He was fully active in the church, serving as deacon and music minister at First Baptist Church in Ovilla, Texas during the 80's. Many will remember his beautiful singing voice, his energy, his passion, and his love of God.
Gary was a son, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and we all miss his presence. But for the truly born again in Jesus Christ we long for the day when we know we will see him again. It is the "Promise" we hold dear, and the gift of Salvation that we Cherish.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Margie New, three brothers, Jimmy New, Travis New, Tony New, and brother-in-law, James Ross.
