George Montgomery, 85, from Waxahachie, Texas passed away peacefully at Pleasant Manor nursing home Saturday, March 6th, 2021.

He was born August 16, 1935 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to John & Irene Montgomery.

He worked at Jameson Fence Co. in Italy, Texas for 30 years until his retirement. He also served our country in the United States Army. He loved the outdoors, from fishing with his sons, and grandkids, and many family members at Possum Kingdom lake to hunting for over 20 years with family in Palo Pinto. He picked golf back up after his retirement and he enjoyed playing every morning with his buddies. He achieved the ultimate when he made his 1st hole in one! He enjoyed spending time and working in his work shop. He could build anything!

He will be remembered as a great father, a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and papa! He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his daughter; Peggy Parton, two sons; Johnny Montgomery, Charles Parton, and one brother, Richard Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife; Peggy Montgomery, two sons: Bobby Montgomery and Jimmy Parton. two brothers Don (Jackie) Montgomery and Bill (Donna) Montgomery, six grandchildren; Addison Montgomery, Mary Beth Jones, Charles Parton, Jessica Parton, Jim Parton and Brandon Montgomery, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Wayne Slay, will be held on Saturday, March 13th at 10:00 AM, Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 West 287 Bypass, Waxahachie, Texas 75165. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, 120 Oaklawn Waxahachie, Texas 75165.

Pallbearers serving for Mr. Montgomery's service: Kyle Butler, Travis Street, Rodney Sevier, Kevin Seals, Greg McFadin and Scott Settlemyer.
