George Slaughter, 79, passed away of natural causes September 7, 2010 at his home in Bynum, TX . He was born in Plainview, Texas on August 8, 1931 to John and Maidia Slaughter. George spent a lifetime in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and catfish fisherman. George will be missed by all who hunted and fished with him. George is preceded in death by his parents, a son Joe Lynn Slaughter, brother Jimmy Ray Slaughter, two sisters Emmagene Fudge, & Johnnie Alma Roberts. George is survived by a daughter, Katherine Jean Moore, a daughter-in-law Lisa Slaughter, 4 grandchildren, Joy Tittle, Teresa Ruckman, John J Slaughter, Alyssa Marie Slaughter, and 3 great grandchildren, David Preston Ruckman II, Damien Parker Ruckman, and Alexis Tittle. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 13, 2010 at Waxahachie Funeral Home with interment following at Red Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
