He was a loving husband of 48 years and a wonderful father to Garret R. York, Jojean D. Baker, and Danielle Young.

Gregory R. York faithfully served his country as a United States Marine receiving a Purple Heart for his dedication after being wounded in Viet Nam. He loved spending time with his family, especially his ten beautiful grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet York, mother Elizabeth A. York, sister Kathleen Stenberg, and brother Jeffery York.

He was extremely devoted to his Lord Jesus and attended and enjoyed serving at Crossroads Christian Church. God had gifted him with a lovely singing voice that enabled him to bless many people, a love for landscaping, and a passion for selling guns. Born in Oakland California, he met and married Janet Dee Johnson in Sparks, Nevada.

A memorial service will be held Monday October 17, 2016, 11 A.M. at Crossroads Christian Church, 6450 S. Hwy 360, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75052. Interment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
