Obituary

Harold Ray Wells Sr., 62, of Crockett, Texas passed away just as he hoped at his home in the middle of the Davy Crockett National Forest after a very commendable two year battle with cancer on January 6, 2024 surrounded by his family.

On March 17, 1961, he was born to Carl Lee Wells and Hazel Marie (Clark) Wells at Dallas Methodist in Dallas, Texas.  His life included several moves around the Red Oak, Dallas, and Kaufman area, with his last five years spent living his dream in Crockett, TX after retiring.  Prior to his earthly departure, he spent almost 30 years shaking his head and raising his arms as a supervisor known to many as "el jefe (boss-man)" at Dallas Container.  You can be sure that his free time outside of work commitments were spent tracking deer on the weekends.  He made lifelong friends during his career which remain to this day.

Although his health was bad, his heart was good!  He was a simple man with a big heart to help others when they needed it most. He was a thinker that was short with his words.  His last two years revealed a weakening man, yet a tremendously strong father, with a sense of humor that brought a smile to his face and others despite his challenging circumstances.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Lee and Hazel Marie Wells along with siblings:  Clarence, James, and Wanda Marie Wells.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Wells, of Crocket and sister Mary Lou Wells, of Terrell, Texas. When their lives joined in 1996, they would go on to share eight children:  Harold Wells Jr., Krystal Saldivar, Amanda Camacho, Christopher Wells, Rebecca Agado, Amanda Agado, Jessi Agado, and Victoria Agado as well as a huge heart for Oralia Bowen. Additionally, there is a plethora of 32 grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous friends.

As a young father, he played an active role at Landmark Baptist Church and we find great joy in sharing that he re-joined shortly before our loss and Heavens gain.

Several shared the honor of a Paul bearer responsibility; however, he specifically chose four friends to carry him to his final resting place in the Davy Crockett National Forest at Cedar Point Cemetery in Crockett, Texas.     Submitted with Honor,   Betty Wells and family
