IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jackie "Jack"
Allen Manley
May 6, 1949 – June 1, 2021
Jackie Allen Manley, 72 of Midlothian, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2021.
Jack was born in Greenville, Texas to Bobby Jack and Margie Manley on May 6, 1949. After graduating from Whitehouse High School, he attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College. During that time, he often returned home to the church his father pastored in Whitehouse, particularly to see a certain deacon's daughter, Helen Womack. Jack and Helen married on April 4, 1969 and recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Jack was ordained as a minister with the Assemblies of God in 1973. Over the next five decades, he would pastor churches in Alto, TX, St. Augustine, TX, Tyler, TX, McAlester, OK, Albuquerque, NM, Cleveland, TX, and Muskogee, OK. As a pastor, Jack was a champion for missions endeavors around the world, and he had the opportunity to travel to several foreign fields including China, Russia, Ecuador, Belize, and Mexico. He retired from full-time ministry in 2014.
Pastor Jack is remembered by multitudes of friends because everyone Jack met became his friend. He could hardly enter a room without seeing someone he knew, and he'd immediately greet them with a ready smile, a warm handshake, and probably a story or two.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Jack Manley, stepfather James L. McQueen, and brother-in-law David Freeman.
Jack is survived by his wife, Helen and his children, Paula Manley of Midlothian, TX and Steven Manley of Tulsa, OK. His mother Margie Manley McQueen, his sister Jeanie Gooden and her husband David and their family, step-sister Marti Smith, her husband Ed and their family, and stepbrother Loren and Karen McQueen and their family. His sister-in-law Liz Freeman Parnell and her husband Larry and nephew Josh Freeman and his wife Rebecca and niece Angela McCrary and her husband Joe. Great nephews Joshua Freeman, Caleb McCrary, Caden McCrary, and great niece Rachel Freeman. He is also survived by many loving cousins and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Josh Freeman, Joshua Freeman, Joe McCrary, Paxton Green, Chad Morgan, and Todd Haney.
