IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmie
Baker
January 12, 1932 – June 14, 2025
Jimmie Baker, 93, went to sleep and woke up in the presence of her Lord, June 14, 2025. She was born January 12, 1932, in Joaquin to Rennie and Bernice Snider. She was raised by two incredible parents in a loving, Christian home with one brother and four sisters whom she loved dearly. The Sniders spent evenings around the piano singing together. Jimmie began to play the piano at a young age and was called upon by the pastor of her church to play for church services. She was well prepared for ministry growing up in such a ministry minded family.
She and her husband, Comer pastored for 36 years. Their ministry touched lives in Chickamauga, GA; Palestine, Rusk, Joaquin, Jacksonville, Bryan, and Corsicana, TX. Completing their time in ministry as the Senior Adult pastors at First Assembly of God in Waxahachie where they were long time members. Working for the kingdom of God was a cherished and central part of her life.
Jimmie was known to most as Nana and she loved like no other. Her family was her priority, but she made anyone she came in contact with feel just as loved and valued as her own. She was an elegant woman with a great sense of style. She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman.
"Her children shall rise up and call her blessed".
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Comer Baker, son Rennie Baker, parents Rennie & Bernice Snider, siblings Ercell Cammack, Ethel Baker, R.C. Snider, Bernice Blount, son-in-law Ben Skelton, and great-granddaughter Catherine Thompson.
Left to honor Jimmie's memory are her daughters Rhonda Roberts (Ken), Rebecca Skelton, daughter-in-law Lector Baker, grandchildren Joshua Baker (Katherine), Brittany Thompson (Lane), Hayley George (Bryce), Madison Skelton, Alex Skelton, Harvey Skelton, Daniel Skelton,15 great-grandchildren, sister Lyndal Gunter (Perry)and several adoring nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM, Friday June 20, 2025, at First Assembly of God. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at First Assembly of God in Waxahachie, with interment following at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin, Texas.
