Joann Manus Mead, 93, of Waxahachie, TX, joined her 11 siblings on August 18, 2015. She was born in Brownwood, TX on November 22, 1921 to Ike and Maggie Booher. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Mead, her sons James B. Crowder, Sr. and wife Tina, Billy Manus and Sherlin, Paul's children, Glen and Melody Mead, Margie and Steve Allen, Myra Mead, Angela and Mike Shoemaker, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joann and Paul were married on August 4, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and they attended mass weekly. Joann was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, loved butterflies and anything pink, enjoyed visiting the casinos in Shreveport and played dominoes with any who were brave enough. Visitation is on Friday, August 21 from 6-8 PM and services will be in the chapel Saturday at 1 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
