Joe T. Davis, 78, went to be with his Lord, February 27, 2012. He was born in Reagor Springs, Texas, March 13, 1933, to J.T. and Mollie Mae Davis. He married the love of his life Nellie Coplen, February 21, 1953, in Ennis, Texas. Joe T. served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Texas Hwy Department in 1993 after 25 years. Joe T was a Baptist Minister for many years. He pastored at Hopewell Baptist in Mt. Peak, TX, Central Baptist in Cumby, Texas, and Bell Branch Baptist, Italy, TX. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Nellie Davis, daughters Carion Taylor of Huntsville, TX, Virginia Gwin of Waxahachie, son Ronald Davis of Waxahachie, Brother Junior Davis, grandchildren Matthew Taylor, Jeremy Taylor, Lindsay Willinborg, Monica Derrick, Heather Recksiek, and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday,February 29, 2012 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Service will be held Thursday,March 1, 2012, 10AM at Waxahachie Funeral Home, with interment following at Myrtle Cemetery, in Ennis, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
