Joyce Ann (Martin) Bankston, 74, passed away near Sugar Land, Texas, on July 6, 2015. Joyce was born in Garrett, Texas, on April 11, 1941, to Shirley Neal Martin and Zula Maye (Hickman) Martin. Joyce was the second of four children and deeply loved her family and God. Joyce graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1959. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Shirley Neal Martin; mother, Zula Maye Martin; brother, Neal Eugene Martin; Sisters-in-Law, Florence Martin and Helen (Bankston) Borders; brothers-in-law, William (Bill) D. Davis and David Borders; father-in-law, Loma Lee Bankston and mother-in-law, Margaret Bankston. She is survived by her husband, Arvil Wade Bankston; sons Michael Wade Bankston and Mark Allan Bankston; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Allemore; granddaughter, Kelsey Diane Summers; sister, Janice Sue (Martin) Davis and brother, Norman Wayne Martin along with many nephews, nieces and cousins. In 1978, Joyce went to work at Merrill's Little Folks Day Care Center in Beaumont, Texas, where she worked her way up to Director and spent more than 20 years taking care of children. Joyce had a special gift with children and became a surrogate mother and grandmother to so many. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Lakeview Cemetery, Waxahachie, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
