Kathryn was born in Grand Island, Nebraska, on September 12, 1946, to Billy Fred and Dorothy Williams. Kathryn moved with her parents to her dad's home state of Texas. Her parents divorced when she was young and her mom remarried.  She was raised by her mom and stepdad  in Dallas, Texas in the vicinity of where Baylor Hospital stands today.  She lost contact with her dad at the age of 5 and  reconnected with him  in 1976 and found she had many brothers and sisters which she became very close to over the years.

On October 5, 1963, Kathy married Preston Hendricks who was a driver for TXI. They had two children: son, Preston Jr. in 1965, and daughter Beatrice in 1968. In 1971 the couple settled in Midlothian to raise their family. The two were married for 33 years when Preston Sr. passed away in 1996.

Kathryn was a loving mother and grandmother, ending every visit or phone conversation with "Love you more!" She was a people person with a servant's heart, always ready with a helping hand, and enjoyed serving the public.  In their several moves with TXI, Kathy worked as a stay-at-home-mom when her children were small, and then as a waitress or in fast food until forced to retire due to pains in her feet and legs.  The last twelve years Kathy suffered the effects of diabetes and declining health but she always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and a great sense of humor.

Kathryn Marie Hendricks passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at the age of 72.

She is preceded in death by her husband Preston Hendricks Sr., her son Preston Jr., by her mother Dorothy Townsend and stepdad Virgil, her father Bill Fred Williams and stepmother, Joyce, and by baby granddaughter, Malina Marie Wences.

She is survived by her daughter Beatrice Wences; by her brothers, Billy Paul Williams and wife Delana, and Bobby Williams, by her sisters Susan Phillips, Patricia Allen, Annette Merrick; by her six grandchildren Stephen Hendricks, James Hendricks, Pedro Wences Jr., Daniel Wences, Michael Wences, Amanda Minor; and by her 13-great-grandchildren: Don Wences, Layla Wences, Kayden Wences, Lydia Wences, Pedro Wences III, Daniel Wences Jr, Isabella Wences, Malina Ruth Wences, Savannah Wences, Jaxin Wences, Preston Wences, Alex Minor and Ethan Minor.
