IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kay Boren
Bonds
November 20, 1944 – August 12, 2021
Martha Kay Boren Bonds was born on November 20, 1944 to Riley and Hazel (Cunningham) Boren, in McKinney, Texas.
After graduating from high school, Kay continued her education at Texas Christian University, graduating in 1967 with a BBA in Administration as well as her Teacher Certification.
She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Waxahachie. She loved attending the monthly "Prime Timers" meetings where lunch was served, games played, and devotions shared, along with other retired church members.
Kay was re-diagnosed with cancer about the time First Assembly had to go to services online, due to COVID. She was always faithful to watch the services. This past Easter the church held a sunrise service in the church parking lot. Kay was so excited about being able to attend the service in person. She pulled her car up as close as she could and rolled down her car window and participated in the service. When her First Assembly church family realized she was in attendance that day, they were eager to greet her from twenty yards away.
Cancer may have taken Kay's life, but it NEVER took her JOY or her faith in God! She remained the most upbeat and optimistic person, regardless of what the latest report from the doctor revealed. And that smile she wore had the power to light up any room!
Anyone who knew Kay, knew she was an animal LOVER, especially loving horses and cats. Horse riding was one of the things she and her late husband, Andy enjoyed together.
She was preceded in death by her parents Riley and Hazel Boren and her husband; Andy Bonds. Kay is survived by her sister; Marilyn McCullough, her beloved tabby cat; Sweetie, as well as many friends.
Kay will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday August 17, 2021, at 10:00 am at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Midlothian, TX.
