June 16, 1952 – April 12, 2016
Red Oak— Kenneth (Ken) Myron Van Brunt, 63, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his home after a long battle with stomach cancer.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Teresa (Hinds) Van Brunt; an older brother, Edmund Stanley Van Brunt III (Christine). Two daughters, Michele Kincaid and Jennifer Van Brunt; his son, Jonathan Van Brunt; three grandsons, Aaron, Anthony, and Andrew Kincaid; and many close friends.
Ken was the youngest son of, Edmund Van Brunt Jr and Barbara (Hunt) who preceded him in death. He was born in Washington, DC.
He joined the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict and was stationed in RAF Chicksands, England where he met and married Teresa (Terri) Hinds.
After serving in the Air Force, Ken attended Florida Bible College in Hollywood, Florida. Thereafter, becoming a missionary to Montevideo, Uruguay and the surrounding countries for over 5 years. Upon his return to the United States, he continued to listen to God's calling and enrolled in Denver Seminary. While living in Colorado, he pastored two local churches in the Denver area.
In 2003, Ken was invited to join a mission trip to the Peruvian Amazon; this ignited his desire to serve and minister in the Amazon Region. Over the next 10 years he and Terri shared the gospel of Jesus Christ and mentored tribal leaders as missionaries with Amazon Focus.
Ken enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, and mountain biking and trekking through the jungle. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan.

Followed by the interment at 2:45 pm Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211
