Obituary

Larry Phillips ended his battle with leukemia at the age of 73, September 8, 2023.  He was born March 11, 1950, in San Antonio, TX to James and Velda Phillips.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Marines.  He enjoyed singing, especially karaoke, he was a talented painter he enjoyed sharing his beautiful landscapes, he was a great gardener he had fig trees and always had fresh vegetables on the table. He loved fixing up old cars. He had a passion for carpentry work and building homes and remodeling. He liked to build tree houses and make root beers for the kids. He served as a boy scout leader for three years with his sons. He loved animals and they loved him too.

He is preceded in death by his father James Edward Phillips, mother Velda Estelle Griffin Millikan McCree, sister Laura Phillips, brothers David Phillips, Thomas Edward Phillips, James O'Gwin Phillips, and Carlos Majors Phillips.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Dianna Louise Mooney May Phillips of 51 years, and sons Nathan Benjody Phillips, Joseph Ethan Phillips, Samuel Ephraim Phillips a daughter Amber Charisse Phillips, brothers Ricky James Phillips, Timothy Lee Phillips, Edward Phillips Fore, Kenneth Edward McCree, sisters Glenda Wayvine Phillips, Belinda Mae Phillips, Deborah Ann Phillips Kelly, Karen Christie Phillips Kelly, Evelyn Denise Phillips, Cynthia Diane Mcree Patt, son-in-law Ernest Lee Parks,

grandchildren Tommy Lee Dozier, Tabitha Dawn Jones Dozier, Brandon Alan Skaggs, Courtney LeAnn Skaggs Steels, Jonathan Tyler Vest, Cassius Josiah Parks, greatgrandchildren Ayden Lloyd, Heavenleigh Dozier, Wydham Dozier, Emberly Skaggs, Bella Steels, and caretaker and best friend Sharon Beets.

A Visitation will be held at the Waxahachie Funeral Home on September the 13th from 6-8pm. Internment will take place at the DFW National Cemetery on September the 21st at 9am. Larry Schaeffer will officiate.
