Eva LaVerne Swallow, 64, passed away on Feb.3, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas after being diagnosed with lung cancer several months ago. She may have lost the battle, but the Heavenly victory is now hers. She was born on Aug. 29, 1946 in Ft Worth, TX to Ralph and Bernice (Williamson) Swallow. LaVerne Graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1963 and attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College. She worked for Braniff Airlines for sixteen years, was co-owner of Hefty Hero and I Can't Believe It's Yogurt and was most recently employed with Home Depot in Dallas. Animals were her passion and she opened her heart and home to numerous abused and neglected animals over the past several years. She is preceded in death by her mother Bernice Swallow, brother, Mike Swallow, and great niece, Ashley Bazan. Survivors include her father Ralph Swallow, of Waxahachie; niece Tonya Swallow Bazan and husband Carlos of Waxahachie; great-niece Lauren Bazan and fiancé, Jeremy Hargrave of Denton; great-nephew, Jeremy Bazan and significant other, Sarah Presley of Waxahachie; brother Roy Swallow and wife Anna of Rhome; niece Casey Swallow of Duncanville; niece Lindsey Swallow of Frisco; niece Holly Jean of Godly; many great-nieces and numerous dear and precious friends. Family visitation and viewing will be Mon. Feb 7, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. A Celebration on Life Service will be Tue. Feb. 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Dr. Wang and the staff at Presbyterian Hospital for their care and to special friends Marlena, Bethany, Marcy and Terri. You were such a God sent to Aunt Laverne during her illness and treatments.
