Leland Clay 88, passed away at home surrounded by his family April 2, 2020.  He was born September 12, 1931 in Wills Point, Texas  to Cody and Alice Clay.  He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Stacy Clay, brothers, David Collins, Phillip Clay, and Horace Clay. Leland (Jack) is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Clay.

Jack, as everyone knew him, was a very gracious, giving, and kind person.  He loved to laugh and was a voracious reader on many subjects, in addition to being an ardent student  of the Word and very knowledgeable about the Bible.  He grew up on the west side of Dallas off of Ford Street, now known as Singleton Boulevard.  He once acknowledged that Bonnie and Clyde frequented the area mainly because it was a great place to hide.  Jack attended Dallas High School, better known as Crozier Tech, and thereafter was drafted in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge in November 1954.

Jack and his loving wife, Dorothy, met in church and later married on March 2, 1957.  Soon after, Jack and Dorothy started a family and he then entered the workforce, first at Braniff Airlines and later for Frito Lay, retired 34 years later.

Jack will be sorely missed by his loving wife, family, and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a children's ministry of your choice.  Arrangements are through the Waxahachie Funeral Home at 1201 W 287 By pass, Waxahachie, Texas.
