Stroope Jr.

Lewis Jackson Stroope Jr. (Jack) , passed away peacefully ay his son's home on February 11, 2025. Jack was born on June 19, 1956, in Amarillo, Texas, to Lewis Jackson Stroope Sr. and Jo Ellen Youngblood Stroope. Growing up, Jack was a Boy Scout and later an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed camping and many outdoor adventures in his younger days. Jack graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1974. On November 27, 1976 he married Pamela Farmer. Together, they raised three children and welcomed many of their children's friends into their home. Jack supported his wife's passion for animals and grew fond of several including a Chihuahua named Peppy and a miniature donkey named Sylvester Stroope, Jr.
Jack served in the Army from 1985 to 1989. He worked for Cabinet Specialist for 20 years and retired from Superior Painting in 2024. Jack also coached, refereed, and scheduled referees for the Central Ellis County Soccer Association, where he served as President at one time. Jack never met a person who didn't become a friend; he had a unique talent for making people love him.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Farmer Stroope; his mother, Jo Ellen Stroope; his in-laws, J.D. and Maxine Farmer; and his grandson, Isaac Baker.
Jack is survived by his parents, Jack and Helen Stroope of Waxahachie; his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jonathan Baker, and their sons, Dawson and Jayden, of Waxahachie; his son, Justin Stroope, and his son, Gavin, and Gavin's mother, Julie Stroope, of Waxahachie; and his son, Josh Stroope, of Waxahachie. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Laurie Stroope of Casper, Wyoming; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Greg Pelt of Waxahachie; and his sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Scott Perry of Sulphur, Oklahoma. His nieces and nephews include Mindy LeMay, Addie Dees, Callie Dwinell, Meredith Pelt, Macie Pelt, Douglas Perry, Jayson Perry, and Luke Perry.
Jack also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Dallas Jones; as well as his nieces, Erin Jones and Tiffany Allen, and Tiffany's husband, Glen Allen, and their children, Holden, Hunter, Hannah, Jesse, and Ava.
His celebration of life service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on February 22nd at Waxahachie Bible Church, 621 N Grand Ave, Waxahachie, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Ellis County Meals on Wheels
