Obituary

Linda Elaine Brandon was born December 23, 1943 to Houston and Wanda Brumit at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, TX.

Linda was raised in an Assemblies of God minister's home. In her early years, she lived in Carlsbad, NM and Gulfport, MS, where her parents pastored. Her parents returned to the Dallas area when she was eight years of age. She attended Mesquite High School.

Linda met Sidney Brandon in June 1957 as young teenagers when they attended a Stamps Quartet music school at the old Sportatorium in Dallas. She began singing and playing the piano at a very young age and was always involved in church activities.

Linda and Sidney were married on October 14, 1960 in Dallas at the Second Avenue Assembly of God church where her parents pastored. They were married for 58 years.

Linda and Sidney began full-time ministry in 1975. Linda was a very active and dedicated pastor's wife and was very involved in all church activities, especially in music, singing, and choir directing. Linda was very creative. She loved working with flowers and greenery. She took great pleasure in decorating the home and church. Linda made her world a more beautiful place and her husband a better man.

Linda was a very active person, always on the go. She loved shopping, traveling, going places, and doing things. She worked for several years at World Missionary Evangelism in Dallas. Most of all, she loved church involvement and family gatherings. Her last involvement was in the Senior Adult Ministry at Oaks Church in Red Oak, TX.

On a lighter side, she was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan. One of her favorite trips was to Graceland and staying at the Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis.

On January 24, 2019 after a lengthy illness that resulted from a fall and several surgeries which devastated her small body, Linda peacefully, with her family by her side, fell once more into the arms of Jesus.

She was and is greatly loved and admired by all who knew her. Linda served faithfully at her husband's side in the ministry for over 40 years. Linda will be remembered most for her loyalty and dedication to her family as a faithful wife, mother, and Mimi.

Linda leaves behind her husband Sidney Brandon of Red Oak, TX; one daughter, Charlotte Holzmeister and husband Ed of Fairview, TX; two granddaughters whom she loved dearly, Elizabeth and husband J.R. of Forney, TX, and Lindsey Holzmeister of Dallas; one sister, Susie Garner and husband Steve of Sherman, TX; two brothers, Sammy Brumit and wife Nancy of Trophy Club, TX; and Dr. Timothy Brumit and wife Esther of Sherman, TX; one uncle, Buddy Nelson of Dallas, as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Wanda Brumit and grandparents, Carl and May Nelson.
