Martha Hice, 74, of Waxahachie Texas left the cares of this life behind and went  to her eternal home,  Monday, April 4, 2022.

She was born April 25, 1947 to Joe E. and Marie (Slay) McClain in Waxahachie, Texas.

Martha married the love of her life, J.L. Hice, December 23, 1965 in Waxahachie, Texas. Together, they made their home in Waxahachie, close to family and friends.  They shared fifty-four wonderful years together before J.L.'s passing in the fall of 2020.

She was a faithful member of her church until her sweet husband became ill and required her constant care, which she lovingly gave.  After his passing, Martha was able to resume regular church attendance, which she loved.  She enjoyed shopping, teaching Sunday School,  working in the nursery, or anything that involved working with children.

Martha was a dedicated employee in the accounting department of several large corporations in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

She is preceded in death by her husband J.L. Hice, her parents, sister Doris Costlow, brothers: David (Dabo) McClain, Marvin McClain, Buddy McClain, Henry McClain and Herman McClain.

She is survived by one brother, Joe McClain and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Waxahachie Funeral Home, Monday, April 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM with the Funeral Service following at 2:00, Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
