Obituary

Roland, MaryAnn, born June 13, 1936, loving wife, admired mother, devoted Gaga, and faithful friend was called to be with God up in heaven on October 4, 2017. She was surrounded by her family and looked with anticipation to the day that she could dance in heaven with her family members who went before her.

Mary Ann is survived by her children Christine Mullins and husband Bryan, Brian Roland and wife Traci, Daniel Roland and wife Kellie, grandchildren Joshua Mullins, Ashley Roland, Cody Roland and fiancé Mallory Bolin, Andrew Roland, and a multitude of friends whom she had met on her blessed journey of life, teachers whom she guided learners with, and students she was honored to lead in the world of education.

She is preceded in death by her husband Francis Andrew Roland, her daughter Coleen Francis Roland, her infant granddaughter Riley Caitlin Roland, parents, Grace Dolores Burgess and Harry Martin Burgess, and brother James Burgess.

MaryAnn was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and had lived with her family in the Dallas area for the past 41 years.

As a talented educator, MaryAnn spent her career teaching students in San Francisco, CA, Menomonie WI, Dallas, TX (Bryan Elementary), and Red Oak, TX. She also cherished the mission trips where she could work with children in other countries and Bible studies that she led over the years. All those who knew her can testify to the fact that she was a woman who fiercely loved God and wanted others to have a lasting relationship with Him. MaryAnn has left a legacy. She finished her course by spending her last days at her home with her loved ones by her side. Those she left behind will always remember her infectious smiles and heartwarming hugs.   "Gaga" will be forever remembered by all who loved her so. Special thanks to each of the doctors and caregivers who encouraged her over the past nine months.

Visitation will be 7:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Waxahachie Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 8:00 PM. The Graveside Service will be held at 10 :00 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Red Oak Cemetery.
