Mary Jo Williams, 87, formerly of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away Monday, September 5 ^th , in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

She was born December 9, 1934, in Pioneer, Texas, to W.F. & Hazel (Langford) Burris.

Mary Jo Married the love of her life, Tommy Williams, at the age of twenty-one in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They welcomed two children, Gwen, and Steve, into their hearts and home.

She was a Waxahachie resident until her health declined, and at that time she relocated to Tennessee to be close to family. While living in Waxahachie, she was an active member of First United Methodist Church.

Mary Jo enjoyed gardening, bird watching, attending church, and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed many family activities with her parents, sister Betty and nieces Christy, Pam, and Karen. She was a devoted mother to her two children, and was a volunteer leader for both Cub Scouts and Brownies. She was an avid dog lover, and always had time to love on a four-legged fur baby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister: Betty Jernigan.

Left to honor her memory are her daughter and son-in-law: Gwen & Paul Weatherford of Gallatin, Tennessee, her son: Steve Williams of Rocket, Texas, and granddaughter, grandson-in-law, and great granddaughter: Lindsey, Kevin and Adriella Goldsmith of Justice, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, September 16, 2022, at Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 West Highway 287 By-Pass, Waxahachie, Texas.

Graveside Service will follow Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock, at Waxahachie City Cemetery, 300 South Hawkins St. Waxahachie, Texas.
