Norman Elick
Leach
August 15, 1952 – April 21, 2026
Norman Elick Leach, 73, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2026.
He was born to Edna and Terrell Leach and grew up in Brownsboro, Texas. In his younger years, Norman loved riding horses, fishing, and hunting—spending as much time outdoors as he could. He had a true thrill-seeking side and enjoyed the rush of riding a fast motorcycle, diving off a cliff, tracking a deer, or showing off with a few tricks on horseback—things that brought him joy and made for stories his family will always remember.
Norman was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He was a dedicated veteran who remained actively involved in the military community, serving as Commander of AMVETS Post 44 and as a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3894. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who valued family above all else. Those who knew him will remember his strength, his steady presence, and the way he showed up for the people he loved.
Norman is survived by his wife, Rebecca Leach; his children, Suzanna Moody of Tyler, Texas, Christina Leach of Rowlett, Texas, and Steven Leach of Carrollton, Texas; and his stepson, Matthew Blanscet of Lancaster, Texas. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Daimen Moody, Cameron Holmes, Hunter Moody, Nikolas Moody, Cayli Swygart, and Dillon, Hailey, and Ryleigh Blanscet; and a handful of great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother, Hamilton Leach; his sisters, Catherine Crawford, Elizabeth Boroughs, Deloros Bennett, Marie Hashem, Rebecca Justus, Patricia Warren, and Sharon Morse; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Terrell Leach, and his brother, Eugene Leach.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the lives he touched.
