Obituary

Opal Lamb, 91, went to be with the Lord December 3, 2013. She was born in Kirvin, Texas November 10, 1922, to Will and Ella Mae Miles. Opal was one of 11 children who grew up on a farm in Freestone county Texas. When her Dad died during the war, Opal moved her family back to the family home to help her mother to be able to keep the family farm. She worked hard all her life to provide a good home for her children. She was a very charitable person who was always there when someone needed food, cleaning, and would do anything to help. She loved music and was an avid reader. She always had a book and bible in her hand. Opal was an apartment manager for years in Waxahachie and Dallas. Everyone who knew her knew she was a great prayer warrior. She loved to laugh, and she could be very mischievous. In later years her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Opal was preceded in death by two husbands Walter Weaver in 1943, and Jacob Lamb in 1992, 4 sisters, and 6 brothers. Opal is survived by sons Jerry Weaver and wife Kay of Mt. Vernon TX, Jimmie Lamb and wife Linda of Red Oak, TX, daughters, Janice Lamb Bradshaw and husband Jerry of Forreston TX, Judy McGaha and husband Tim of New Braunfels, TX, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday December 4, 2013, at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 9:30 AM, Thursday December 5, 2013 at Waxahachie Funeral Home with interment following at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home. Please sign online guestbook at www.waxahachiefuneralhome.com
