Obituary

Pamela Farmer Stroope passed away July 30, 2019 at Legend Oaks Nursing home in Ennis, Texas, surrounded by family. Pam was born to J.D. and Maxine Farmer in Dallas, Texas on January 1, 1954. She graduated from Whitney High School in 1972. Pam married her husband Jack Stroope Jr. on November 27, 1976. Pam was a devoted advocate for all of the individuals she served during the 20 years she worked in the group homes at MHMR agencies in Waxahachie. After retiring, she enjoyed a country lifestyle and operated a horse farm. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid horse lover from an early age. Above all else, she enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a mother figure to many of her children's friends and those with whom she came in contact with through her stables.

Pam is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Maxine Farmer, as well as her mother-in-law,  Jo Ellen Stroope. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Isaac Baker.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Jack Stroope Jr. of Waxahachie, and her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Dallas Jones. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jonathan Baker and their son, Dawson, of Waxahachie; son, Justin Stroope,  and his son Gavin, and Gavin's mother, Julie Stroope of Waxahachie; son Josh Stroope of Waxahachie;  sisters and brothers-in-law and their families: Judy and Greg Pelt and 2 nieces of Waxahachie; Jim and Lori Stroope and 3 nieces of Casper, Wyoming; and Janice and Scott Perry and 3 nephews of Sulfur, Oklahoma.  Pam also leaves behind her husband's parents, Jack Stroope Sr. and Helen Stroope; her aunt, Dorothy Lowry, as well as her nieces Erin Jones and Tiffany Allen and husband Glen Allen and their children Holden, Hunter, and Hannah.

Her celebration of life service will take place Saturday, August 10th at 10:30 a.m. at Waxahachie Bible Church,  621 N Grand Ave, Waxahachie, TX.   In lieu of flowers, please make donations  to Ellis County Meals on Wheels.
