Pat McCarty, 89 passed on her journey to heaven on February 18, 2022.  She was a resident of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and traveled on while at her daughter's home in Glenn Heights, Texas after battling Alzheimer's disease.  She was surrounded by family and friends as she drifted away peacefully to be with our Lord.  She was born to Adrian and Carolyn Madrigal in El Paso, Texas on January 26, 1933 where she attended grade school, high school and rodeo'd.

She is survived by Tom McCarty, her husband of 73 years, sons and daughters Tom McCarty, Debi McCarty, Karen Woolery, Melissa Lennox, Kelly Longbine, Clay McCarty, their spouses and children, many nieces and nephews, along with all of their children from both her father's and mother's side of the family.  Pat was preceded in death by her son Jake Duane McCarty.

Pat lived a glorious life surrounded by the one thing that gave her true happiness and that was her family and friends.  All that came, knew that they were welcome, could break bread and share a home cooked meal, and indeed, it was always a very good home cooked meal. She never turned anyone away from her door, never raised her voice to anyone in anger, even with her children she would warn of telling their father of those misdeeds that they were committing.  She made many dear and lifelong friends in her life and they were truly very close.  Many have passed now, however, those who remain although saddened, can share the many memorable moments with those who would love to hear the stories.

Heaven will be blessed, and will welcome her with open arms and will be a much richer place as she enters those golden gates.
