IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick Shawn
Murray
April 16, 1960 – June 9, 2020
|
Patrick Shawn Murray Sunrise – April 16, 1960 Sunset – June 9, 2020 Pat was proud of his Scandinavian and Irish heritage, but wasn't a huge fan of his middle name. He was a rebellious soul and lived on his own terms his entire life, and perhaps no surprise to anyone that knew him, he also died on his own terms. Pat had an unsettled and restless spirit, with a heart bigger than life. He was strong willed, with equally strong opinions. There was nothing more rewarding for Pat than a rigorous debate, regardless of the topic. Pat was a deep thinker on things both important and relevant, and meaningless. Pat showed endless care and concern for others, way more than for himself. Pat hated the idea of being a burden on anyone, and resisted asking for help, but was always the first person willing to help others. Pat lived a simple life, where material items meant little. He was experienced at learning things the hard way – he said it made him a better person. Pat's solid moral compass helped guide him through life and kept him out of trouble. Never married, but Pat still knew love, loss, and heartbreak. He was amazing with children and would have been an awesome father. Pat loved the outdoors - where the mountains of Montana and Devil's Lake in Webster Wisconsin were special places in his heart. Pat grew up in Webster Wisconsin and graduated High School in 1978. Pat worked construction after high school. An ankle injury led him to earning a 2-year degree at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota in electrical sciences. However, Pat heard a different calling after graduation and he listened. He obtained his CDL and became a professional truck driver instead. His driving career spanned more than 36 years and millions of miles driven. Pat is survived by his mother, Doreen Murray, 4 brothers John (Sonia), Mike (Carol), Tim (Judy), and Tom (Eileen), and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Pat in death was his father, Earl Murray (2010). Pat's charm and big personality will be missed by his family, relatives, friends from the road, and his 2 nd family from the Waxahachie Texas area, where he was last based. Pat will be laid to rest in Saint John's Catholic Cemetery in Webster Wisconsin, next to his father. |
