IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patti
Skelton
May 22, 1934 – September 18, 2023
Patti Skelton, 89 passed away peacefully at her home in Waxahachie on September 18th, 2023. She was born on May 22nd, 1934 in Irving, Texas.
As a young woman, Patti had a very successful modeling career. She modeled for Loreal Paris for many years and also won many beauty contests. During this time, she also raised two daughters, Teresa and Rene. While beautiful, Patti was also kind and fair, seeing the bright side of things with her brilliant wit and sense of humor, traits that her daughters inherited.
Patti continued to succeed in other professional endeavors, such as banking and as legal secretary for a prominent Dallas attorney and Membership Director for Las Colinas Country Club before continuing to excel in her secretarial career at DuPont.
Upon retirement, Patti devoted her time to her family and many interests. She transcribed her son-in-law Tyler Beard's, successful western books. She also enjoyed decorating her condominium and surrounding herself with her favorite crystal and art deco styles. Despite her fragile and beautiful belongings, her grandchildren were always encouraged to play and be creative. Patti lived by the motto 'Things can be replaced, people can not.'
Patti enjoyed her final years in her Waxahachie home that son in-law, Francois had built on the Louis property. Although her family all took care of her in different ways, Francois was her primary caregiver, who was patient and kind during her battle with dementia, they went on morning walks together until her final, beautiful day.
She is survived by daughter Rene Louis, son-in-law Francois Louis, grand-daughters Isabella and Madeleine Louis and caregiver Joshua Vance.
She is proceeded in death by her infant son Roland Skelton, eldest daughter Teresa Beard, son-in-law Tyler Beard, and ex-husband Tommy Skelton.
A small memorial will be held in her honor at the family's residence.
She enjoyed attending Covenant Church
