IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggy Jean
Smith
September 4, 1950 – October 13, 2016
Peggy Smith was born the 2nd child and only girl of 4 children to Charlie and Jimmie Lucas on September 4, 1950 in Dallas, TX. She grew up in Wilmer where she met Wayne Smith, the love of her life and husband of 49 years. She became a 2nd mom to his children Toni and Butch and loved them like her own. In 1969 she gave birth to Tricia. Jennifer was born 13 months later. Although she had a few jobs through the years, taking care of her family was her priority.
Her dream career came true when she graduated from Navarro College of Vocational Nursing in 1991. Because she had a heart of gold and loved taking care of others she treated her patients as though they were family and they loved her very much as well.
She had such a love for her family, there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. She would give a stranger the shirt off her back if they needed it. She opened her home to many family members and friends if they ever needed a place to stay. Whether you knew her as Mom, Granny, Aunt Peggy, or Peggy chances are she love you more. She loved to laugh, Michael and Eric could get her rolling and what a beautiful sound that was.
She is survived by her daughters Tricia, Jennifer, and Toni, her brother Lonnie and sister in law Ann. grandchildren TJ, Haley, Colt, Kassi, Nikki, Danika, Dylan, Anthony, Andrew, Dave and Jull, She also is survived by 14 1/2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved like her own children. Her parents, Charlie and Jimmie, her brother Charlie, her son Butch and her beloved Wayne were all waiting for her arrival on October 13, 2016.
We are going to always miss you, LOL
When Peggy got her first smartphone and learned to text message, she would end her text with LOL which she thought meant Lots of Love...and to her it did!
