Philip Boykin, 68, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on June 21, 2025 in Waxahachie, Texas. Surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Philip was the beloved son of the late Henry Alfred Boykin and Mary Francis Wilson. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army, a role that reflected his strong sense of duty and leadership. After his service, he dedicated over 14 years to the City of Fort Wayne as a Water Technician before retiring.
Philip was a man of many passions. He found joy in singing and dancing with his children and grandchildren, creating memories full of laughter, rhythm, and love. He also had a gift for beautifying his surroundings, whether through meticulous lawn work, vehicle maintenance, or his flair for interior design. His creativity and care for his home reflected the pride he took in everything he did.
He is survived by his loving partner, Reina Garcia Diaz, his cherished children: Jamila Boykin, Alicia Nugent (Jerry) Shamika Boykin, Natalia Coward (Rashaad), Tamara Boykin (Giovanni) 11 grandchildren. He was a devoted grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose spirit and warmth will be deeply missed.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister, Belinda Jean Boykin and his uncle James (Jimmy) Boykin.
Philip's presence was a light to those who knew him. He will be remembered for this laughter, his love, and the strength he showed throughout his life.

In celebrating his life, per the family wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor Philip's life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
