IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Prudy
Farmer
May 16, 1934 – September 13, 2024
Prudy Farmer, 90, surrounded by her family, peacefully entered her Heavenly Home, on September 13, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1934, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Lawrence and Mary Farina. In 1958, Prudy moved to Waxahachie to attend Southwestern. While attending Southwestern, she met the love of her life, Eldon Farmer. They were married on September 5, 1959. The Lord blessed them with two wonderful children, Ken and Kim.
She was a faithful member of University Assembly of God Church. Over the years, she served as a Missionette Sponsor, Sunday School teacher, worked in Women's Ministries and was on the MissionAnnes Committee. She was the switchboard operator at SAGC for many years. You could hear her voice and ringing through the first floor of the Administration building. She also loved having the college kids over to cook for them, let them do their laundry, and use the tv to watch various worship services and Dallas Cowboy games.
She then went to work at the Southern Baptist Convention Annuity Board, in 1986. She worked there until she retired in 1997.
After being home for a while, she decided she wasn't ready to "settle down" just yet. So, she went to work at Cornerstone Christian School. There she would help to make some delicious homemade meals for the students and teachers. She then went back to work at SAGU. She loved visiting, joking, encouraging. and praying with the students and staff. No faculty member was off the table for her jokes and love. She was affectionately known by students and staff as Mrs. Prudy. Through both seasons of life at Southwestern she impacted many hundreds of students' lives everyday. And she never forgot a name!
Prudy loved to be around people. She was full of life. She loved to fellowship and laugh. Her house knew no strangers.
She loved helping and cooking for others. She and Eldon would bring food and groceries to people who were in need or sick. A host of family and friends would eagerly await their annual Birthday or Anniversary call. Some have their special Birthday voicemail saved to this day.
Prudy was a wonderful wife of 63 years, mom, grandmother (Nana), and great grandmother (GreatNana). She was the best Nana ever. She loved cooking for her grandkids and spolling them. She would watch any sports game or movie that her grandchildren wanted to watch. And many times, she would laugh harder and cheer louder.
Prudy was a faithful servant of the Lord. She lived daily to serve and praise Him. All Prudy was, came from her love for Christ and her obedience in serving Him.
Prudy is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon, her parents Lawrence and Mary Farina, her beloved son Kenneth Farmer, her brother Teddy Farina, her brother Tony Farina and her sister Jo Oakes. Survived by her daughter Kim George (David), daughter-in-law Barbara Farmer, grandchildren Elissa Campbell (Monte), Bryce George (Hayley), Raven Clark (Howard), and Lance George. Great - grandchildren, Payton Campbell, Jayden Campbell, Kensley Campbell, and Baby Max George. And a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
Kim would like thank Bristol Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Prudy. Special thanks to Ashley and Mary who checked on her daily. They were devoted to her each week and gave her the best care possible.
A special appreciation is given to Marilyn Thompson, Brittanie Thompson, and Mallory Timberman for the incredibly deep love and care they gave my mom, these past few years. You were truly a blessing to her and our family. We could not have done it without you.
